Following the annual board meeting, Lee University’s Board of Directors awarded tenure to seven faculty members with an effective date of August 2025. Those who received tenure are Drs. Amy Moody, Ashley Mulligan, Holly Perleoni, Stephanie Pope, Lorinda Roberts, Alex Sandoval, and Justin Walker.
Dr. Moody is the chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Lee's School of Nursing and also serves as an assistant professor. She teaches courses in nursing leadership and public health, with a special interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. Her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree is from Nebraska Methodist College, her Master of Science degree is from the University of South Alabama, and her Bachelor of Science degree is from the University of Tennessee.
In 2019, Dr. Mulligan was appointed to the faculty at Lee University as an Assistant Professor of English. She teaches courses in Rhetoric and Composition, Western Literature, and more advanced seminars such as Studies in Romanticism and The British Novel. In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Mulligan also helps lead a global engagement trip to England. She supervises both the Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society and the Bluestockings Club while also frequently mentoring English majors through the McNair and Ledford research programs. Her Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts degrees are from Pennsylvania State University; her Bachelor of Arts degree is from Lee University.
Dr. Perleoni teaches courses in marketing, such as consumer behavior and brand development. She works as an assistant professor of marketing, holds the title of associate dean in the School of Business, and directs the Master of Business Administration program. She is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society, and she also serves on the boards of the Christian Business Faculty Association and the Junior Auxiliary in Cleveland. Her academic qualifications are a Doctor of Business Administration from Anderson University, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Lee University.
In 2019, Pope joined the Helen DeVos College of Education as an assistant professor of elementary education. Courses she teaches include Introduction to the Teaching Profession, Early Childhood Methods, and Foundations among others and master's level classes. She earned her Doctor of Education from Trevecca Nazarene University, her Master of Education from Lipscomb University, and her bachelor's degree in business administration from Freed-Hardeman University.
Dr. Roberts is the vice president for student success and also an assistant professor of youth and family ministry. Her outreach and missions work takes her to Germany, France, Haiti, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Native American reservations, inner-city, and the Church of God Home for Children. She received her Doctor of Educational Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, her MA from Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and her BS from Lee University. She is also an ordained minister in the Church of God.
In 2010, he became part of the faculty at Lee University after teaching for nine years in Georgia. He is an assistant professor of special education and chairs the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education. His major teaching interest is pre-service teacher preparation in special education. As a native of Guatemala, he has a strong interest in cross-cultural teaching experiences in Latin America for candidates in special education, as well as raising awareness about disabilities. Dr. Sandoval got his PhD in special education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; his MEd from the University of Missouri; and his undergraduate degree from Lee University.
In 2019, he joined the faculty of the School of Theology & Ministry as an assistant professor in Old Testament and Christian ministries. His research interests are in biblical poetry, ancient Near Eastern iconography, and theology of the Old Testament. He is the author of "The Power of Images: The Poetics of Violence in Lamentations 2 and Ancient Near Eastern Art" and currently writing "Lamentations" for the Old Testament Theology series of Cambridge University Press. Walker received his PhD, Master of Theology, and Master of Divinity from Emory University and his BA from Lee University.
