She owned her story in 2023 with the frank Netflix documentary “Pamela: A Love Story” and the memoir “Love, Pamela.” A career comeback that also included the Broadway debut in the 2022 revival of “Chicago” and the series “Pamela’s Garden of Eden.”

One of the Canadians to be nominated for a Golden Globe was a first-timer and that is Vancouver based Gabriel LaBelle vying for the best actor in a motion picture comedy gong for his work in Jason Reitman's “Saturday Night,” loosely inspired by the actual cast and crew of the first episode of “Saturday Night Live.”

Canadian director Denis Villeneuve hailing from Quebec garners a nomination for best directed drama film for the sci-fi sequel Dune: Part Two […] where […] including […] to avenge the destruction of his family.
Ryan Reynolds, who is from Vancouver, and Shawn Levy, who is from Montreal, also received a nomination for the Marvel movie they directed titled “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Reynolds reprises his role as the protagonist in the lead role of the feature he co-wrote and is joined by Hugh Jackman in his long-awaited return to the iconic X-Men character, Wolverine.
Earlier this year, the film’s director Levy told The Canadian Press about the film, sharing that it was his friendship and connections with Canada that ignited the project especially with Reynolds in it.
“I hate to say it, but I think our Canadian-ness figures in how closely we’re bonded,” said Levy, who made the family comedy “Night at the Museum” in 2006 and is producing Netflix’s monster sci-fi hit “Stranger Things.”
