The free-to-play action RPG No Rest for the Wicked has just received the massive update ‘The Breach’ and it might be just what its fans have been waiting for.
No Rest for the Wicked is a game that never stays still. The title, which is currently available in Early Access on Steam, will receive its next large update: The Breach, bringing tons of new content to this fantasy-themed action RPG. An enigmatic teaser trailer of just a few seconds has been released by developer Moon Studios to give at least some taste of the imminent trials. All the more reason, with the negative direction the game’s Steam reviews have taken, to get that update out there as soon as possible.
No Rest for the Wicked is an action RPG set to launch in April 2024 that places the player in the task of purging a medieval-inspired realm afflicted with a plague known as the Pestilence. Plus, there’s the small matter of the kingdom being run by the ex-king’s son, Magnus, who might not have the firmest grip on keeping everything in check. That’s one narrative only, mind you, with the developer fleshing out the story gradually in its Steam Early Access format over time; more chapters are unveiled.
Moon Studios has teased that their newest update, The Breach, might be their biggest one yet, calling it “monumental in nature.” Having heard the players of the Ori games out, the studio has laced up a roguelite tincture along with further features in No Rest for the Wicked. So, chances are that this forthcoming update will roll along similar lines.
Specifics of what The Breach is will not be known at this point, other than a quick glimpse of the enemies listed above. Such detailed content will be provided by Moon Studios in one of their Wicked Inside shows on March 11, 2028. However, we are hopeful that Moon will divulge some information prior to that, in the best interest of the game.
Overall review stands at ‘Mixed’, with many reviews attacking the developers as they fail to communicate, a lot of reviewers even suggesting that the game has maybe been completely left as the last major update was eight months ago.
Moon Studios acknowledges in its announcement that there has been a period of silence from the studio. The statement further states, “From now on you can also expect more constant and frequent communication on all of our official channels leading up to and beyond this big beat."
